Beyond The Wall

Beyond The Wall is the debut album by 55 Degrees North—a musical love letter to Northumberland, its landscape, history and independent spirit.

Written and produced by Kezz Stone in an off-grid studio in the woods above Bamburgh, the record grew from the same concerns that shape his campaigning work: farming, identity, belonging and the relationship between rural communities and distant political power.

Across tracks including Mouths of the Tweed, The Hanging Stone, Blawearie and Cuddys Law, the album draws on local places, stories and traditions while combining songwriting, field textures, sampled voices and contemporary production.

For Kezz, music and campaigning are closely connected. Campaigns can document what is being overlooked; music can express why it matters.
